The West Java Regional Police (Jabar) legal team stated that they had prepared evidence and facts in determining Pegi Setiawan as a suspect in the 2016 murder case of Vina and Rizky in Cirebon.
The Head of Law for the West Java Regional Police, Kombes Pol Nurhadi Handayani, said that the reading of the answer to the lawsuit by the Pegi legal team would be read out on Tuesday, July 2, 2024.
"Yes, we have been conveyed by the petitioner, the arguments, God willing, in accordance with the agreement and the judge's instructions for our answer will be delivered tomorrow morning," said Nurhadi in Bandung as reported by ANTARA, Monday, July 1.
Nurhadi did not specify what the arguments or facts were to answer all the allegations in the pretrial lawsuit read out by the legal team of Pegi Setiawan.
"For things that I cannot convey in detail here, maybe all colleagues can participate in tomorrow's activity. We are ready," he said.
He said that his party would later show two pieces of evidence that made Pegi named a suspect.
"We are ready to show evidence, which has been carried out by West Java Police investigators. Yes, later we will convey it at the trial later there will be a schedule for documents, evidence, everything," he said.
The West Java Regional Police have prepared 15 attorneys from within the police to assist in the pretrial trial process.
"Today we are from the legal team from the West Java Regional Police, of course in accordance with the invitation from our court with a team of around 15 people, we will attend the trial," he said.

Meanwhile, Pegi Setiawan's attorney, Insank Nasaruddin, asked the West Java Regional Police if they had evidence of determining Pegi as a suspect, they must be tested immediately at trial.
If he does not have the two pieces of evidence, he asks that his client be released immediately.
