KPK Reveals The Contents Of The Corrupted President's Social Assistance Goodiebag: Rice, Cooking Oil Tocouples

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) revealed that the contents of the president's goodiebag of social assistance (bansos) distributed during COVID-19 and corruption were eventually basic necessities. Types vary from rice to biscuits.

"The contents of the social assistance vary, ranging from rice, cooking oil, biscuits and several other basic necessities," said KPK Spokesperson Tessa Mahardika to reporters at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday, June 28.

Tessa ensured that the social assistance currently being investigated was a goodiebag with the Presidential Palace logo. "That the assistance being investigated is one of them given by the president to the public," he said.

"Regarding the value of procurement that is still being investigated, we are still in the process. So we will update it at the next opportunity," said Tessa.

The KPK ensures that it will thoroughly investigate the presidential social assistance case. Tessa said the suspect's actions to reduce the quality of social assistance must be resolved.

"Of course, the actions of the suspects to take advantage by reducing the quality of social assistance which should have reached the community have hurt the spirit of the government, the spirit of Mr. President Jokowi to provide assistance, especially during the Covid pandemic," said the spokesman with the investigator's background.

"KPK pays close attention to the actions taken by the suspect and is committed to resolving this case thoroughly," continued Tessa.

Previously reported, the KPK revealed that it was investigating allegations of corruption in the procurement of presidential social assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic which was distributed in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) in 2020. There are already suspects named, namely Ivo Wongkaren who is the President Director of Mitra Energi Persada.

In this case, the mode used by the suspects is to reduce the quality of the social assistance provided. As a result of this practice, the state lost up to Rp125 billion and this figure could increase because the calculation was being carried out.
