Invite Jokowi At The Third Congress, NasDem: We Are Part Of The Government, Loyal Even Though We Are Abused

JAKARTA - The Secretary General of the NasDem Party, Hermawi Taslim, revealed the reasons for inviting President Joko Widodo to the III Congress of the NasDem Party which will be held on August 25-27, 2024 in Jakarta.

Hermawi explained, NasDem is a party that has been in Jokowi's government since his leadership from 2014 until it ends in 2024. Thus, it is a must for NasDem to present it in large-scale party activities.

"We will invite President Jokowi because we are part of the 10-year government. Setia (although) was reviled, cursed, expelled. Finally, what took us out didn't come out either," said Hermawi at the NasDem DPP office, Central Jakarta, Friday, June 28.

Apart from Jokowi, NasDem will also invite Prabowo Subianto as the elected President of 2024, along with Gibran Rakabuming Raka as the elected Vice President. In Congress III, NasDem will also discuss cooperation that will be built with the Prabowo-Gibran government.

"The elected president, we will invite him. Here, the true spirit we will invite him as part of the pre-congress, then we will explain later what points we can do together," said Hermawi.

In the third Congress, NasDem also asked Prabowo-Gibran to give a presentation on work programs and policies that will be implemented during the next five years of government.

"So they present here. The most important thing is economic problems. We are very concerned about the problem of national stability. Later, then we invite the team here in the form of a coalition involving many parties," added NasDem DPP Chairman Willy Aditya.

In general, the III Congress of the NasDem Party will begin with a series of precongress agendas by discussing various themes and topics ranging from the global economy, democracy, health, education, culture, poverty reduction, employment and unemployment, as well as other basic topics.

"This means that the collaborative spirit is put forward. This brings NasDem as a party that wants to build synergy, not only with political parties, but with political society, civil society, business community, government or government," said NasDem DPP chairman Willy Aditya.

Willy said the NasDem Congress III would involve 100 people in the entire series of activities. The participants were educated from the management structure to the sub-district level who would be present digitally. NasDem strives for 30 percent of congress participants to be women.

"This is a long congress, a congress involving more than 100,000 people, because we started in stages from the DPRT, DPC, DPD, DPW which then became involved in a digital concept of congress. This is a process of how the transformation into a digital party is realized," explained Willy.

on the second day of the congress, all congress participants were free to dress traditionally or traditionally from their respective regions.
