Ukrainian Shots Destroy Zaporizhzhia Radiation Control Post

JAKARTA - Ukraine's fire destroyed a radiation control post in Velyka Znamyanka, the Zaporizhia region, which was seized by Russian troops.

"Specalis (Zaporizzhia Nuclear Power Plant) has taken a number of measures to control the radiation situation in the area," said Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant management via a Telegram messaging application.

The radiation level, continued management, did not exceed the safe level.

There has been no immediate comment from Ukraine.

Russian troops previously seized the Zaporizhzhia factory at the start of the Moscow invasion of Ukraine during the February 2022 invasion. Moscow and Kyiv have since routinely accused each other of endangering the safety around them.

Russia's Defense Ministry said US experts had established missile flight coordinates based on information from US spy satellites, meaning Washington was directly responsible.
