Five inmates or Correctional Inmates (WBP) at the Class II-A Women's Correctional Institution Kerobokan, Badung Regency, Bali, keep methamphetamine in the Kerobokan Prison.

In fact, one female inmate was desperate to keep methamphetamine in his genitals so that it was not known by the Kerobokan prison officers.

Head of the Eradication Division of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of Bali Province Kombes I Made Sinar Subawa said the case of a group of female prisoners who kept the illicit goods was the delegation of cases from the Class II-A Women's Prison in Kerobokan.

"So we are here to receive five suspects in a narcotics case report that occurred at the Kerobokan Class II-A Women's Prison," said Kombes Sinar Subawa, during a press conference at the BNNP Bali office, Denpasar City, Monday, June 24.

The female prisoners who kept methamphetamine with the initials DD, MD, IW, EP danYL. The mode of these female prisoners keeps crystal methamphetamine in their genitals, flower pots and hairstyles.

"The modus operandi is that drugs are stored in the genitals, hair belts and plant pots," he added.

Based on a report from the Kerobokan Class II A Women's Prison, Bali, on January 29, 2024, five suspects were handed over along with narcotics evidence in the form of methamphetamine weighing 3.92 grams net to Bali Province BNN officers.

At that time, the officers of the Class IIA Women's Prison in Kerobokan conducted an examination of all residents of the women's prison. During the examination, narcotics were first found in the hairband belonging to the suspect DD.

Then, when the officers continued the examination, a package of narcotics was found in a plant pot, which was known to be narcotics, was placed by suspects MD and IW. The methamphetamine was obtained from the suspect DD.

Furthermore, when the officer examined the suspect YL's body, the suspect himself issued narcotics wrapped in tissue stored in his genitals.

The narcotics brought by the YL suspect were obtained from the EP suspect. Meanwhile, the EP suspect obtained narcotics from the suspect DD.

"The total evidence does not weigh much 3.92 grams net. But this stands out because this group is already a prisoner and inmates but he is still using drugs," he explained.

There are five suspected female prisoners who are still serving their sentences, some will be released.

"But because we are processing, yes, we will continue (the punishment). Their admissions are consumed in a crowd, these five people," he said.

BNNP Bali is still investigating where these five suspects got methamphetamine. Because, when they were in prison and they were examined they already had the methamphetamine.

"We received an overflow from the prison for women and their previous children (moved) from Bangli. Suddenly when they were in prison, an examination was carried out and found like that, they brought narcotics," he said.

The suspects are subject to Article 114 Paragraph (2) or Article 112 Paragraph (2) of the Law on Narcotics.
