Former East Lampung Regent Detained For Alleged Corruption Project Of IDR 6.9 Billion

BANDARLAMPUNG - Lampung High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) said that the former Regent of East Lampung (Lamtim) for the 2021-2025 period M. Dawam Rahardjo (MDR) was detained at the Way Hui Bandarlampung Detention Center.

"As of today, brother MDR, we are detained at the Way Hui Detention Center," said Apidsus Attorney General Armen Wijaya, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, April 18.

He said the former Lamtim Regent was detained along with three other people who had been named as suspects, namely MDW as the state civil apparatus (ASN) in East Lampung Regency, then AC as the director of the provider company and SS was the director of the supervisory consulting firm and the plan in the construction work.

"In the interest of further investigations, our suspects will be detained at the Way Hui Bandarlampung Detention Center for the next 20 days," he said.

Armen said the articles suspected of the four suspects were Article 2 Paragraph (1) Jo. Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption jo. Article 55 Paragraph (1) 1 of the Criminal Code.

Subsidiary Article 3 Jo. Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the eradication of acts of transfer of corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 to 1 of the Criminal Code.

"All of our articles apply the same to the four suspects. Then the threat itself is a maximum of 20 years in prison, a minimum of 4 years and also for life," he said.

The former Regent of East Lampung for the 2021-2025 period M. Dawam Rahardjo (MDR) along with three other people, namely MDW, AC and SS, were named suspects by the Lampung Attorney General's Office for corruption cases in the construction/maintainment work of the Regent's office gate area in the 2022 fiscal year with a ceiling of more than Rp. 6.996 billion.

Previously, the Lampung High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) had also examined more than 30 witnesses including the MDR related to the alleged corruption case in the construction/maintainment work of the East Lampung Regent's official residence (rumdin) gate area (Lamtim) in the 2022 fiscal year.
