JAKARTA - The National Police and the Regional Police have submitted a request to block 15,081 online gambling content to the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo).
The Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police, Komjen Wahyu Widada, said that the request for the stabbing was submitted during the period from April 23 to June 17, 2024.
"From that period, Bareskrim and all ranks have submitted a blocking of 15,081 content," Wahyu told reporters, Friday, June 21.
The tens of thousands of online gambling content was obtained from the results of cyber patrols carried out by all levels of the National Police at the regional police level, especially the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation.
This blocking step must continue to be taken to eradicate online gambling practices. It is undeniable that massive gambling sites or content continue to emerge.
On the other hand, Wahyu also said that cooperation between institutions, institutions, or ministries must continue to be carried out. This is because new modes are likely to emerge to cover up online gambling practices.
"Of course, we must carry out this collaboration continuously because in the future online gambling practices and efforts to disguise the circulation of money will continue to be carried out," said Wahyu.
