SURABAYA - The Surabaya City Population and Civil Registration Service (Dispendukcapil) asked residents whose family cards (KK) were included in the inactive or blocking list to carry out a tiered clarification process.

Head of the Surabaya City Dispendukcapil Eddy Christijanto stated that the clarification process was a step in validating population data.

"This clarification is to find out whether the residents still live in the same location or move," said Eddy as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, June 21.

The clarification process has been running from June 13 to August 1, 2024 in each sub-district. This step is intended so that KK owners avoid blocking.

Because, said Eddy, when the KK is blocked, it can affect the process of requesting public services, such as creating new accounts and BPJS.

"When it comes to health facilities (BPJS), we carry out special processes and handling. For NPWP or administrative services that need our ID card, we also facilitate it," he said.

Dispendukcapil also ensures that clarification runs easily as long as residents are open to following all applicable procedures.

For residents of Surabaya who currently live outside the city, they are asked to take care of moving to live by adjusting their current area.

The relevant agencies are ready to assist in the process of managing delivery letters to similar agencies in other areas.

"When the domicile moves, we adjust it to the domicile address," said Eddy.

Meanwhile, residents of the city of Surabaya who are residents of flats and apartments are asked to change their location of residence.

"If you live in the flats, you can take care of a letter to move to the DPRKPP (Public Housing Office for Settlement and Land) Surabaya City. If the apartment is to the manager," he said.

Based on the results of a review of kelurahan and sub-district officers in each region of the clarification process, it was found that 42,408 families were still threatened with being blocked.

"Initially there were 61,750 families, then they dropped again to 42,807 and now only 42,408," he said.

Eddy said that of the total 42,408 families, there were 97,408 people whose whereabouts were still unknown by RT/RW, kelurahan, and sub-districts.

"We don't know if the residents now live in urban villages, sub-districts, or other districts. They can also be working abroad, maybe when they move they don't report and the data," he said.

Therefore, he hopes that tens of thousands of residents will immediately carry out the clarification process so that population data in the city of Surabaya can be detailed.

"This also has an impact when the resident is registered as a poor family who needs help, but the data is invalid, we have difficulties," he said.*
