DKI High Court Strengthens 6 Years In Prison Sentence Former Secretary Of Supreme Court Hasbi Hasan

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta High Court upheld the 6-year prison sentence handed down to former Supreme Court Secretary Hasbi Hasan after being proven to have accepted bribes in the handling of a lawsuit in the bankruptcy case of the Intidana Savings and Loans Cooperative (KSP) at the cassation level in the Supreme Court.

"Strengthening the decision of the Corruption Court at the Central Jakarta District Court Number 113/Pid.Sus-TPK/2023/PN.Jkt.Pst dated April 3, 2024, which was requested for the appeal," wrote the administrative document for the decision of PT DKI Jakarta as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, June 20.

The decision was made by Chief Justice Teguh Harianto in Jakarta, after receiving a request for an appeal from the public prosecutor and legal adviser HasbiHasan.

Thus, the DKI Jakarta High Court stipulates that HasbiHasan remain in custody, stipulates that Hasbi's arrest and detention period be reduced entirely from the sentence imposed, and charges Hasbi a court fee of two levels, which is in the appeal level of Rp. 2,500.

The appeal filed by the public prosecutor of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is based on HasbiHasan's verdict which is considered too low from the demands given, namely imprisonment of 13 years and 8 months, a fine of Rp. 1 billion, subsidiary to imprisonment for 6 months, and to pay compensation of Rp. 3.88 billion, subsidiary to 3 years in prison.

Meanwhile, in the verdict, HasbiHasan was sentenced to 6 years in prison, a fine of Rp. 1 billion, subsidiary to 6 months in prison, and to pay compensation of Rp. 3.88 billion, subsidiary to 1 year in prison.

Hasbi was proven to have accepted a bribe of Rp. 3 billion to take care of the case against the KSP bankruptcy case at the cassation level with the aim of winning the Intidana KSP debtor Heryanto Tanaka.

Hasbi received the money from Heryanto through former Commissioner of PT Wika Beton, Dadan Tri Yudianto. Meanwhile, Heryanto submitted his company's case management money to Dadan in total amounting to Rp11.2 billion.
