DENPASAR - The Provincial Government (Pemprov) of Bali is financing the cremation process for 11 abandoned bodies without an identity from Prof. Ngoerah Hospital.

Head of the Bali Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Social Service (Dinsos PPPA) Luh Ayu Aryani said this assistance came from the Bali APBD amounting to Rp119 million for 14 bodies this year.

"The year 2024 will be financed for IDR 119 million, but not all of them have been used, only 11 packages for cremation today until tomorrow," he said, Wednesday, June 19.

He said the cremation process for 11 bodies was carried out today for five people and six others on June 20, 2024 tomorrow.

Those who were financed were abandoned bodies without identity or who were identified but were not accepted by their families, who had been at Prof. Ngoerah Hospital.

Aryani said this assistance should indeed be given by the Bali Provincial Government, but with the hope that in the future there will be no more abandoned bodies, because with the unknown identity the government decides their ceremony with Hindu traditions.

By carrying out cremation in a Hindu manner, he said, it is hoped that the body will be able to perfect the body back to the creator, purify the deceased spirit, and accelerate the return of the body to its original realm.

In addition, he continued, it can return the elements of forming a human rough body or Panca Maha Butha back to its origin, because every person who is Hindu who dies must be used as ashes again so that Atma can reach heaven.

"It is an obligation for everyone to humanize each other, as well as a right for everyone to get proper treatment as a human being, from birth to death," he said.

The cremation process for the 11 abandoned bodies was carried out in Dharma Kerti Pura Dalem, Kerobokan Traditional Village, Badung Regency, for the next process of dredging or sweeping the ashes was carried out on the next day at the Kerobokan Traditional Village Mining Place.

His party always completes this responsibility every year. Especially this year, it has only been running for 11 bodies and still has a budget for 14 more bodies.
