Jokow Visits Bali To Review Vaccination Program

GIANYAR - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) accompanied by the Governor of Bali Wayan Koster reviewed the mass COVID-19 vaccination at Puri Agung, Ubud, Gianyar Regency, Bali.

"I just want you to keep three important things in mind. We should be grateful that the vaccination process has started simultaneously in Bali Province, in all districts and cities", said Jokowi, Tuesday, March 16.

"And we hope that with the increasing number of people who have been vaccinated, there will be the herd immunity of communal immunity that we hope for. Communal immunity has been formed (and) the rate of spread of COVID-19 can be inhibited, we can reduce and even eliminate", he continued.

Jokowi thanked the regional head in Bali who kept reminding the public to maintain health protocols.

"What is important, secondly, is to always maintain strict health protocols. So, the rate of spread of COVID-19 will actually be reduced in Bali Province", he said.

The third point is that President Jokowi talks about plans to open tourism on the condition that the rate of COVID-19 cases decreases.

"Third, when it appears that the spread of COVID-19 is sloping down and then disappears with the stages which will be designed from provinces, regencies and cities as well as later from the center", he said.

"We will start one by one the opening of the economy. Particularly in the tourism sector in the Province of Bali to return to its normal position, but at this time we have to talk as it is, it still requires steps towards a normal situation and we hope that everything will remain in a vigilant position", said Jokowi.
