President Jokowi Scheduled Eid Prayers At Baiturahman Mosque, Semarang

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is scheduled to attend Eid al-Adha 1445 Hijri Prayers at Simpang Lima Field, Baiturahman Mosque, Semarang, Central Java on Monday 17 June. This information was conveyed by the Main Expert of the Presidential Staff Office, Ali Mochtar Ngabalin, who was confirmed in Jakarta on Sunday 17 June.

Ngabalin explained that President Jokowi's decision to pray in Semarang was based on a working visit he was doing there. "The main consideration is because of the President's working visit there," he said.

In addition, Ngabalin said that President Jokowi rarely attended the agenda of Islamic holidays in Central Java, especially in Semarang, during his term of office. "During his two terms as President, Islamic holidays, almost never the President was in an area like Central Java," he added.

This visit is also an opportunity for President Jokowi to stay in touch with relatives in Central Java, especially towards the end of his term of office. "The president also wants to take the time to stay in touch," explained Ngabalin.

The agenda for working visits to Semarang has been planned in a meeting and has been consulted with the previous President. "This is the result of discussions in the meeting and has been consulted with the President," he concluded.
