JAKARTA - Anies Baswdedan responded to the statement by the Deputy Chairperson of the Gerindra Party, Habiburokhman, who considered that the people of Jakarta wanted a new leader.

The former governor of DKI Jakarta did not care about what Habiburokhman said. Anies emphasized that he would continue to run as a candidate for Governor of DKI Jakarta in his second term.

"Now we accept the mandate to become a candidate and run it in an honorable way," said Anies when met in the Pondok Indah area, South Jakarta, Friday, June 14.

To convince the public that he is still worthy of leading Jakarta, Anies will convey his achievements during his tenure as Governor of DKI for the 2017-2022 period and what he will do if he is re-elected.

"Tell the residents of Jakarta, what is the plan, what has been done, what will be continued. The rest we leave to Jakarta," he explained.

Currently, Anies has stated that he will run again as a candidate for the Governor of DKI Jakarta in Pikada DKI 2024. Anies has been encouraged by the DKI Jakarta National Awakening Party (PKB) to advance.

A number of other parties also glanced at Anies to be promoted in the gubernatorial election, such as the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) and the PDI-P (PDIP).

Meanwhile, Deputy Chairperson of the Gerindra Party, Habiburokhman is optimistic that Ridwan Kamil (RK) if his opponent Anies Baswedan will win in the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election.

Habiburokhman assessed that the people of Jakarta need a new figure in leading their territory. According to him, there are almost no incumbents or incumbents re-elected after his term ends.
