Indonesia Ready To Accommodate Palestinian Children Traumatized By Israel-Hamas War

JAKARTA - Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto said Indonesia is ready to accommodate Palestinian children who are traumatized by the war between the Palestinian Hamas struggle movement and the Israeli military.

This was conveyed by Prabowo in a press statement at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, after reporting the results of his working visit abroad, to President Joko Widodo.

Indonesia has announced that it is ready to evacuate 1,000 patients being treated in Indonesia, and once recovered it will be returned to Gaza once the situation is normal. I also offer on the initiative of Mrs. Khofifah (former Governor of East Java), as well as leaders of Islamic boarding schools in East Java, West Java, ready to accommodate orphans, traumatized children. This is being discussed," Prabowo explained as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, June 13.

During his meeting with President Joko Widodo, Prabowo reported the results of visits abroad, one of which was attending the Gaza Emergency Response Summit in Jordan.

He conveyed that the summit specifically discussed humanitarian assistance that could be prepared immediately, in order to anticipate a ceasefire that was expected to materialize soon.

"Even if the ceasefire did not materialize, what steps should be taken to urge both sides to a ceasefire, and to help the Palestinian people in Gaza," he said.

In addition to conveying Indonesia's readiness to evacuate 1,000 Palestinian patients, as well as orphans and trauma in Palestine, Prabowo said Indonesia is ready to send doctors to the Gaza Strip.

According to Prabowo, Indonesia is one of the most concrete countries at the summit, and the steps taken by Indonesia are appreciated by many countries.
