Hasto Suspects There Is A Political Interest In KPK Investigators On The Status Of The Suspect: Who Is Behind Rossa?

JAKARTA - PDI-P Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto admitted that he was surprised why the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigators seemed to have targeted him, who has now been named a suspect in bribery and obstruction to the investigation of the Harun Masiku case.

Hasto assessed that there was a political interest from one of the KPK investigators named Rossa Probo Bekti in investigating this case. Rossa is suspected of intimidating related parties in the law enforcement process.

"Why not only the target, then the processes, to the point of violating without mercy, were carried out by Rossa Probo Bekti, who used the KPK for his narrow interests?" said Hasto at the PDIP DPP office, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, February 18.

Hasto also wondered if any particular party used this case through Rossa to make himself guilty in the Harun Masiku case.

Bearing in mind, the KPK has now named Hasto as a suspect in the bribery and obstruction of the investigation based on the adequacy of the evidence that was only owned from the case 5 years ago.

"On this occasion I asked, who is behind the investigator, Rossa? So that the KPK institution, it looks like other cases, and then this has been re-processed by ignoring the criminal procedural law," said Hasto.

Therefore, the PDIP legal team will report Rossa Probo Bekti to the KPK Supervisory Board (Dewas) for alleged ethical violations and errors in handling cases in the form of intimidation against the former convict in the Harun Masiku case, Agustiano Tio.

Hasto emphasized that this complaint to the KPK Council was not made against the anti-corruption agency. On the other hand, PDIP wants to keep the KPK from returning to its main mission.

"We believe that the KPK Council will act fairly and have full sovereignty without intervention from any party to dare to examine Rossa's brother, who in fact has intimidated and enforced the law that violates the law," said Hasto.
