JAKARTA - United States (US) President Joe Biden will sign a new security agreement with Ukraine on Thursday, June 13, regarding US long-term support for the country.
Biden left for Italy on Wednesday, June 12, to attend the G7 Summit. Biden will increase pressure on Russia over his war against Ukraine and against China for his support for Moscow and overcapacity of the industry.
"The agreement will clarify our support will last a long time in the future... especially in the defense and security sector," White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan told reporters aboard the Air Force One.
"By signing this, we will also send a signal to Russia about our determination. If Vladimir Putin thinks he can last longer than a coalition that supports Ukraine, he is wrong," Sullivan said.
