President Jokowi Claims The Government Is Serious In Eradicating Online Gambling

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo emphasized that the government is serious about eradicating and fighting online or online gambling, which so far millions of gambling sites have been closed and the Online Judi Eradication Task Force will soon be completed.

"The government also continues to seriously eradicate and fight online gambling. And so far more than 2.1 million gambling sites have been closed and the online Judi Task Force will soon be completed, which we hope can accelerate the eradication of gambling", said President Jokowi in Jakarta as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, June 12.

The Head of State observed that many bad things occurred as a result of gambling, for example, property was sold out, husband and wife divorced, committed crimes, committed violence, and not a few that caused casualties.

The President conveyed that online gambling is cross-border, borders and authorization, so that the most important defense is the community itself.

Therefore, the President asked the public not to gamble.

"It is better if the money is saved or used as business capital. Gambling is not just risking money, not just games or fun with prizes, but gambling is risking the future, both the future of oneself, the future of our families and the future of our children," he said.

The President also invited all religious leaders, community leaders, and the wider community to remind each other, supervise each other and also report any indications of online gambling.
