JAKARTA - Four Israelis held hostage by Hamas were released in a special operation at the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, the Israeli military said.

Noa Argamani (25), Almog Meir Jan (21), Andrey Kozlov (27), and Shlomi Ziv (40), were rescued by Israeli military, intelligence, and special forces from two separate locations in Nuseirat, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said Saturday, June 8.

The four Israelis were kidnapped from the Nova music festival on October 7, according to the IDF.

They are in good medical condition and have been transferred to Tel-HaShomer's Sheba Medical Center for further medical examination, continued the IDF.

Saving people held hostage during the Hamas attack on October 7 remains the main goal of Israel's military campaign in Gaza.

This is the third successful operation. Corporal IDF Ori Megidish was rescued in October last year from the northern Gaza Strip. In another operation on February 12, 2024, Fernando Marman and Louis Har were rescued from the southern Rafah.

The video shows Argamani hugging his father after he was released.

He is one of the most famous hostages left and appears in a series of Hamas propaganda videos released in January.

The first video shows Argamani's clip with two male hostages, Yossi Sharabi and Itai Svirsky. It ends with a statement saying, "Tomorrow, we will tell you about their fate."

The third and final videos show the bodies of Svirsky and Sharabi. Argamani also said the two men had been killed by Israeli bombings, and their deaths were later confirmed by their home villages.

News of the rescue of hostages emerged when the Israeli military said it was targeting terrorist infrastructure in the Nuseirat area of central Gaza.

Israel's massive airstrikes and artillery fire also occurred in areas around al-Zawaideh and Deir al-Balah, where there were reported casualties.
