PKB Legislators Believe Minister Of Religion Yaqut Can Solve HKI Juanda Church Land Problems

JAKARTA - Member of Commission VIII DPR from the PKB faction, Luqman Hakim believes that the Minister of Religion, Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, is able to solve the land problem of the Juanda HKI Church which is threatened with being 'lost' because it is in the plan to build the Indonesian International Islamic University (UIII) Campus.

Luqman said, so far Minister of Religion Yaqut has always paid serious attention to the problems of building houses of worship, including churches.

"As a member of Commission VIII, I believe that the Minister of Religion Gus Yaqut has serious concerns regarding the construction of houses of worship," Luqman said when contacted, Friday, June 7.

The Ansor GP cadre confirmed that Winning Yaqut would solve the problem of the building of the Juanda HKI Church which stands on campus III land. However, he could not predict the policies that would be taken by the Minister of Religion.

"I can confirm that Gus Yaqut already has a concrete settlement plan on the issue of the Juanda HKI Church. In detail, please confirm directly with Gus Men Yaqut," said Luqman.

What is clear, Luqman continued, is that Commission VIII of the DPR in charge of religion and partnerships with the Ministry of Religion ensures that it continues to monitor and communicate with related parties. So that, he said, the congregation of the HKI Juanda Church, Depok, who is 9 years old, can continue to worship.

"Although there has been no official Commission VIII meeting on this matter, I make sure the leadership and members of Commission VIII have a concert and have communicated to the parties, especially the Ministry of Religion so that this problem can be resolved properly," said the Central Java electoral district legislator.
