Gibran Is Happy That A Number Of Leaders Are Advancing In The Solo Pilkada, Residents Have Many Choices

Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka said citizen participation played an important role in the success of the 2024 Surakarta Regional Head Election (Pilkada).

"The most important thing is participation from residents," he said after attending the Surakarta City DPRD Plenary Meeting in Solo, Central Java, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, June 7.

He also appreciated the agenda of fighting over ideas carried out by political parties to find out the vision and mission carried out by each party's internal selection registrant, as recently carried out by the Surakarta City PDIP DPC.

"It's like yesterday's event to deliver the vision and mission, it's a good event, so we appreciate the chairman of the PDIP DPC. So people know the vision and mission of each readon," he said.

Regarding the Surakarta Pilkada in general, Gibran supports all existing stages. His party has also coordinated with the General Election Commission (KPU) and the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu).

"We have coordinated with the KPU, Bawaslu, hopefully everything will go well. We support all the stages," he said.

Gibran also welcomed the large number of candidates for Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Surakarta who are currently following the internal screening process.

"That way the people of Solo will have more choices," he said.

Previously, one of the names registered with the internal selection of political parties, namely the Deputy Mayor of Surakarta Teguh Prakosa who participated in the screening at PDIP. In addition, there is also a single name that will be carried by the Surakarta Golkar Party DPC Sekar Tandjung.

"Many women, many young people, advocates, culturalists, deputy (Deputy Mayor of Surakarta). So Solo I'm sure there will never be a shortage of leaders," he said.
