OPM Shooting Soldier In Dekai In TNI-Polri Pursuit

PAPUA - Kapendam XVII/Cenderawasih Lt. Col. Inf. Candra Kurniawan said that currently the TNI-Papua is pursuing OPM members who shot soldiers in Dekai, Yahukimo Regency, Papua Mountains. The shooting of Praka RU, who is a member of Kodim 1715/Yahukimo, took place last Thursday evening on Jalan Seradala, Dekai District. "Victim Pratu RU suffered a gunshot wound to the left leg and is currently being treated at Dekai Hospital," explained Kapendam XVII/Cenderawasih Lt. Col. Inf Candra Kurniawan in Jayapura, Antara, Friday, June 7. Admittedly, his party has not been able to confirm which group the perpetrators of OPM members are from because they are still being investigated. Pursuit continues to be carried out to arrest OPM members who were the shooters. Meanwhile, Head of the Cartenz Peaceful Public Relations Task Force AKBP Bayu Suseno separately explained that the shooting of TNI soldiers in Dekai was carried out by KKB Kodap XVI Yahukimo at around 18.20 WIT, on Jalan Seradala, Kilometer 2, Dekai District, Yahukimo Regency, Papua Mountains. “Korban yang merupakan anggota Kodim 1715/Yahukimo ditembak KKB Kodap XVI Yahukimo di bagian grung sebelah kiri,” jelas AKBP Bayu Suseno. The Free Papua Organization (OPM) is a mention in the TNI and Polri circles, but it is still often called an armed criminal group (KKB).

The group is currently struggling to separate Papua from the Republic of Indonesia.
