Puan Calls Anies Interesting In The DKI Gubernatorial Election, NasDem Singgung Barisan Hurts Heart

Secretary of the Election Winning Body (Bappilu) of the NasDem Party Willy Aditya responded to the PDI-P (PDIP) statement which is now interested in Anies Baswedan as a candidate for Governor of DKI Jakarta.

Willy assessed that political parties do not adhere to rigid principles. Even though he was on a different path from Anies during his tenure as Governor of DKI for the 2017-2022 period, PDIP could be interested in carrying Anies in the next regional election.

Moreover, in the 2024 presidential election, both Anies and PDIP who carried Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD lost the political contestation.

"It's okay (PDIP is interested). Don't look at the diametrality like that. Our politics is a liquid thing, it's not even uncommon for fellow ranks to be hurt when they meet, right?" said Willy at NasDem Tower, Central Jakarta, Thursday, June 6.

On the one hand, Willy emphasized that his party would not pursue Anies to be promoted as a candidate for Governor of DKI Jakarta. So, NasDem did not want to go to Anies first to ask for his willingness to run for the DKI Jakarta gubernatorial election, as previously done by PKS and PKB.

"Nasdem is good, isn't it. You see how the presidential election is, right with Anies? This (now) is in turn. Yesterday was intimate with NasDem, got along, dated. Then (if) now PKB wants to date too, PKS too, it's only natural," said Willy.

The chairman of the NasDem Party Leadership Council (DPP) is still not aware whether the former Governor of DKI Jakarta intends to register for the Jakarta governor's cagub through his party.

"Ask Mr. Anies, really. If Nasdem is okay," he added.

Previously, PDIP DPP chairman Puan Maharani assessed that Anies Baswedan would be an attractive figure if he returned to running as a candidate for the 2024 Jakarta Regional Head Election (Pilkada).

"It's also interesting, Mr. Anies," said Puan when asked by reporters about the candidate who will be supported by the PDI-P, Tuesday, June 4.

Related to this, Puan said that the figure who will be supported by the PDI-P will be based on a realistic assessment. According to him, each region has different characters about electoral political opportunities.

Even so, he said the PDI-P was ready to cooperate with any party in the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada contestation. However, the cooperation, he said, would be carried out after his party saw the political mapping in the area.

"The PDI-P is ready to work with anyone, this is Mr. Lodewijk (Golkar), are we ready, sir, to work together?" he said.
