Shooting Case Of 6 FPI Troops, Ministry Of Human Rights: There Was An Order Of Stalking, Not Murder

JAKARTA - In investigating the death of six FPI troops The Indonesian National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) only found an order from the police to carry out a follow-up. There were no findings regarding the order to attack the FPI troops.

"We have found a stalking order, not assaults and killings of civilians. If that (the stalking order) is acknowledged. Jakarta Metro Police also shows us the warrant", Komnas HAM chairman Ahmad Taufan Damanik said in a discussion entitled 'Revealed! Amien Rais meant to meet Jokowi on FPI! ', On Sunday, March 14.

Taufan said that his party did not find evidence of serious human rights violations in the shooting of 6 FPI troops by the police. Based on the Rome Statute, he said, a case can be categorized under the criteria of gross human rights violations when the attacks and killings are the result of a policy or state institution.

"If we look at the case (shooting of 6 troops) FPI, is there a policy in this case the police or state institutions, is that the President? We cannot find it", he said.

However, when asked about the existence of two other suspicious cars during the clash between the police and the FPI laskar at the Jakarta-Cikampek Km 50 toll road, Taufan stated that this still cannot be used as corroborating evidence of gross human rights violations.

"I said earlier, that gross human rights violation must be an act of assault and murder which is an order or policy. The existence of two cars which until the end of the investigation was not known who was in it could not be an indication", he explained.

However, Taufan said, his party recommended that police investigators look for the person in the car. Because Taufan suspected that there were other actors in the car.

Also, Taufan said that his party recommended that the police investigate who supplied the firearms allegedly belonging to the FPI troops.

"Why did Komnas HAM recommend it because the police said that, he had to prove it. Don't say something but he can't prove it. Must prove who is not only there or not but who is the source of FPI's weapons", he said.
