JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the House of Representative of Indonesia (DPR RI), Ahmad Sahroni, encourages the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to collaborate with other institutions in the search for fugitives who have fled abroad.

This is because there are still many wanted lists (DPO) that anti-graft agencies have never found and their whereabouts are not even known.

"There are things that the KPK needs to do, including increasing cross-institutional cooperation, such as with the police and the Ministry of Law and Human Rights," Sahroni said as quoted on the Nasdem Faction website, Sunday, March 14.

According to the NasDem politician, the KPK must further optimize its search for DPO. Because with their arrest, cases currently being investigated in the country can immediately find a bright spot.

"The settlement of cases currently being investigated in the country is actually very closely related to the discovery of these DPO. So if they are found quickly, the case will be transferred to court and decided immediately. So the public also doesn't have to wait long," said Sahroni.

Sahroni reminded that the KPK must take quick steps by coordinating with the Ministry of Law and Human Rights to immediately carry out extradition to Indonesia if the DPO have their location known.

"So the synergy is very important," he said.

Previously, the Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri said, there were still seven wanted lists for people or DPOs who were abroad.

"Of the seven, we confirm that three people are outside because they have permanent residence outside," said Firli of the Hearing Meeting (RDP) with Commission III of the House of Representative of Indonesia and the Supervisory Board of the Indonesian Corruption Eradication Committee at Nusantara III Building, DPR RI, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, March 10.

"For the four people, we cannot confirm whether they are still in Indonesia or abroad," he continued.

Firli said until today the seven DPOs have not yet known whether they have been declared dead or not.

"Until today there has been no news that someone of the DPO was buried because they died, and we have not yet found the headstone where he was buried and who was buried," he said.
