Polish Foreign Ministry Calls Russian Ambassador After Missile Enters Territory

JAKARTA - Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said the Polish Foreign Ministry had summoned the Russian ambassador in Warsaw following the fall of an unidentified object allegedly from a Russian missile in the country's east.

On Thursday, the Polish military reported that it had detected an unidentified flying object in the country's airspace and the possible location of the crash, including a crater with a diameter of about ten meters.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk, without waiting for the experts' findings, claimed it was probably a Russian Kh-101 missile.

"Today, the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Russian ambassador in connection with the missile that entered Polish territory yesterday," Tusk wrote on X, as reported by Sputnik, Friday, July 31.

Previously, Polish authorities attempted to immediately blame Russia for the explosion near the border with Ukraine in November 2022, but then it was confirmed that the Ukrainian S-300 air defense missile had exploded in Polish territory.

Moscow has repeatedly stressed that Russian forces are only attacking military facilities and related energy facilities in Ukraine, and are not violating the airspace of neighboring countries.
