PDIP Politician Said Abdullah Considers Kaesang Also Interesting For The Jakarta Gubernatorial Election

Chairman of the PDIP DPP Said Abdullah said that President Joko Widodo's youngest son and PSI General Chair, Kaesang Pangarep, were also attractive to be promoted in the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election.

This was conveyed by Said in response to the statement by the Chairman of the PDIP DPP, Puan Maharani, who considered Anies Baswedan interesting to run again in the upcoming Jakarta Pilkada.

"Kaesang is also interesting. Who said it was not interesting for PDIP?," said Said, Wednesday, June 5.

According to Said, PDIP is open to any figure who wants to become a regional leader, including Kaesang. He said PDIP never thought someone was an enemy.

"PDIP does not deny anyone, and we are not in the context of hostile to anyone, we want to find a leader who is focused on the interests of the people of DKI Jakarta," he said.

"It's not about people I don't like, you don't like me, I don't choose, it's not like that," added the member of the DPR.

However, Said admitted that Anies did have the power to be championed in the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election. Apart from Anies, he said, the former Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil, was also interesting.

"The fact that Anies was strong was seen yesterday's presidential election, in Jakarta. If Ms. Puan said that, Mr. Anies was interesting, it would be interesting, at the same time there was an interesting RK, definitely interesting, both of them are interesting, but we'll see," said Said.

Previously, the chairman of the DPP PDIPuan Maharani considered Anies Baswedan to be an attractive figure if he returned to running as a candidate in the 2024 Jakarta Regional Head Election (Pilkada).
