JAKARTA - Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution's breakthrough in the framework of correcting and normalizing the ditch has received mutual support and appreciation from the residents. This is because this answers residents' complaints regarding the floods that have been occurring due to silting.

One resident named Hasan Djohari participated in the mutual cooperation to correct and normalize the ditch on Jalan Selamat Pulau, Kelurahan Sitirejo, Medan Amplas.

With simple equipment, he and other residents cleaned the ditch from the mud and garbage sentiments, then lifted them into the truck.

On behalf of the residents, Hasan Djohari thanked the Mayor of Medan, Bobby Nasution, for having programmed the mutual cooperation to clean and normalize each other's toast ditches, especially in the area where he lives. Moreover, this program was carried out at the beginning of his leadership.

According to Hasan, so far, if it rains with high or moderate intensity, the ditch will overflow and there will be a flood of up to half a meter, water even getting into the house. This condition certainly makes us feel uncomfortable, that's why we come down because this is for the sake of mutual comfort.

"We are very grateful and grateful to the Mayor of Medan and the Deputy Mayor of Medan, because they have prioritized cleaning the toast, we hope that after cleaning the trench it can collect water if it rains and this area does not flood again", said Hasan, Saturday, March 13th.

On the sidelines of the mutual cooperation which began at 08:00 WIB, the Mayor of Medan, represented by the Deputy Mayor of Medan, H. Aulia Rachman, observed the erection and normalization of the trench on Jalan Selamat, Amplas.

At around 11:30 WIB, the Deputy Mayor of Medan who arrived at the location immediately saw workers involving officials from the Public Works Office, Public Infrastructure and Facilities Handling Officers (P3SU), and Sanitation and Gardening Service Officers cleaning the drainage from the sendiments.

According to Aulia Rachman, the condition of the intercropping ditches in Medan is quite burdensome for officers to clean them. Therefore, the Mayor of Medan instructed the relevant agencies to conceptualize an engine boat system that can suck up the joints so that this drilling will be more effective and maximized.

"This is done because currently there are several points of mutual trenching where buildings have been built. In addition to making it difficult for officers to dig manually, there is also no location that can place the sentiments before being transported and disposed of. For this reason, tools such as beach reclamation are needed, but the machines are smaller. . That way the trenches will be corrected and normalized more optimally, "said the Deputy Mayor of Medan.

Aulia explained, with this tool, in addition to making it easier to erode the trench, the Mayor of Medan's Program will also be realized, namely the integration of City drainage, Provincial and State drainage, so that the flood problem caused by the large amount of garbage and sediment in Medan City can be resolved.

"If this program is effective and successful, the new Medan City Government will urge the public not to litter. This means that we can prove it first, and the first thing that can be done is to transport garbage from in front of residents' houses, by increasing trash rickshaws", explained the Deputy Mayor of Medan. .

Previously, all officers involved in correcting and normalizing trenches held a rally at Jalan Selamat Pulau led by the General Assistant, Renward Parapat accompanied by the Head of Medan Amplas Sub-district, Edi Mulia Matondang.

Apart from Medan Amplas District, corrections were also carried out in Medan Area (Jalan Asia Raya Komplek Asia Mega Mas), Medan Denai (Jalan HM Joni, Kelurahan Binjai) and East Medan (Jalan Veteran, Jalan I to Jalan IV, and Jalan Bilal. ), as well as Medan Perjuangan (Jalan Mabar Kelurahan Sei Kera Hilir II).
