Kepala Kejari Bireuen Munawal Hadi mengatakan tuntutan tersebut dibacakan jaksa penuntut umum dalam persidangan di Pengadilan Negeri Bireuen pada Selasa (4/6).
"Ada dua terdakwa narkotika dituntut dengan pidana atau hukuman mati. Keduanya dibukti secara sah dan meyakinkan bersalah melakukan tindak pidana narkotika jenis sabu dengan total 34 kilogram," kata Munawal dilansir ANTARA, Selasa, 4 Juni.
Previously, the two defendants, namely Muhammad and Abdullah, were arrested by a joint team of Bareskrim Polri and Customs and Excise in Bireuen Regency on November 29, 2023. The defendants obtained these drugs from the waters of the Malacca Strait and then buried them in their homes.

Munawal said the prosecutor demanded that the two defendants be guilty of violating Article 114 Paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 Paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics. These demands are as in the primary indictment of the public prosecutor.
Based on these demands, the two defendants through their legal advisors stated that they would file a written defense or plea which was read out at the next trial.
"The panel of judges at the Bireuen District Court continued the trial on Tuesday (11/6) with the agenda of hearing the defense of the two defendants," said Munawal Hadi.
