JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo said investing in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) is like buying a future.

The reason, he said, is that various infrastructures such as roads and airports can only be felt in the next few years.

"Ladies and gentlemen, don't imagine now, because the toll road from Balikpapan to IKN hasn't finished yet, so you have to turn first and then get to IKN," said President Jokowi during the groundbreaking of Astra Biz Center at IKN, East Kalimantan, reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, June 4.

Along with the construction, Jokowi explained that transportation access to IKN will be easier with toll roads and commercial airports.

Therefore, President Jokowi encourages investors to immediately invest in IKN development before the land price becomes expensive.

"Because now we know the price is between Rp. 400 thousand-Rp. 800 thousand. In Balikpapan alone, 1 meter (land) is already Rp. 15 million, in Jakarta it is Rp. 200 million. But I tell you that price now, tomorrow it can change, because if the demand is high, the price will automatically increase," he said.

President Jokowi expressed his appreciation to PT Astra Internasional for contributing to advancing IKN by building the Astra Biz Center, which is an integrated service complex on an area of 3.4 hectares to serve business activities of 11 companies from the Astra Group.

In addition, the president appreciated the development of the Nusantara Botanical Garden which was carried out by entrepreneurs who are members of the Nusantara Consortium.

"I want to thank you because this is not a business matter, this is a social matter. Because from their CSR, they spend a lot of money, I don't know how many hundreds of billions, I want the goods to be finished," said Jokowi.

The existence of thebotanical garden is expected to support IKN as a green and smart and fun city.

"This must be seen as a city of the future," said President Jokowi.
