Banjarmasin Police Efforts To Legally Castration Father Perkosa Anak Kandung

JAKARTA - The Banjarmasin Police, South Kalimantan (South Kalimantan) is seeking the castration sentence of a father with the initials SY who forced sex with a biological child with the initials ED (14) and has been doing so for the past four years in the East Banjarmasin area.

"The perpetrator has been carrying out the action for four years, but it was only revealed last week after his wife was caught," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Banjarmasin Police, AKP Eru Alsepa, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, June 3.

He said the police revealed the facts during the four years of carrying out their actions, the perpetrator threatened the child to be killed if he resisted or reported.

Until finally caught by the child's mother, and after being caught, the mother and child fled from the pursuit of the perpetrator who threatened to kill, until they finally came to report to the police station," he said.

Eru explained that the perpetrator was assisted by the victim's uncle, who is currently on the wanted list (DPO) because he managed to escape after the main perpetrator was arrested.

For victims, he said, the child protection unit together with the local government are providing psychological assistance as an effort to restore the child's mental condition.

According to Eru, the mentoring process and to dig up information must be carried out carefully because currently the victim is still in a severe trauma condition. Therefore, all parties are involved in restoring their health.

For this incident, the perpetrator was charged with Article 81 Paragraph 2 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection with a threat of 15 years in prison.

"Regarding the castration sentence, we coordinated with the prosecutor's office during the file transfer process. We make sure the perpetrators are punished as severely as possible," said Eru.
