Police Urge Spectators Not To Bring Bottles Of Water During The National Team Vs Tanzania Match

JAKARTA - The police appealed to spectators not to bring liquor and bottles of mineral water into the Bung Karno Intermediate Stadium (GBK), Jakarta in the Indonesian national team test match against Tanzania, Sunday.

"We continue to serve and secure the audience so that they are orderly not to make a fuss. It is forbidden to bring alcohol or bottles of mineral water into the stadium," said Head of Public Relations of the Central Jakarta Metro Police, Ipda Ruslan Basuki, when confirmed in Jakarta, Sunday.

Apart from not bringing alcohol and bottles of mineral water, the police also forbade spectators to bring and light fireworks, flares, and firecrackers because they could disrupt order and the course of the match.

Meanwhile, for traffic engineering around GBK, the police are also still looking situationally at the audience in the field as well as whether the vehicle is congested or not to go to GBK.

"Traffic engineering looks at the situational number of spectators on the ground," said Ruslan.

A total of 605 joint personnel from the TNI and Polri were deployed to ensure the safety of the Indonesian national team's test match against Tanzania at 16.00 WIB. The Indonesian Football National Team tested its strength with a test match against Tanzania at the Gelora Bung Karno Intermediate Stadium, Jakarta.

This match is a preparation for Shin Tae-yong's team before facing the second round of Asian zone 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Iraq and the Philippines which will be played on June 6 and June 11.

Indonesia, which is ranked 134th in the world with 1102.7 points, is 15 places from Tanzania with a ranking of 119 in the world with 1159.81 points. Tanzania's highest ranking was 65 in 1997.

The coach of the Indonesian national team, Shin Tae-yong also considers that this trial match is an event to improve and restore the physical condition of the players after undergoing the holiday process before looking at the 2026 World Cup Qualification.
