"Dear students in the United States, you are standing on the right side of history," Khamenei wrote on social media X, as quoted on May 30.
"You have now formed a branch of the Resistance Front and have started an honorable struggle in the face of the cruel pressure of your government, which openly supports the Zionists," he continued.
Khamenei wrote an open letter to students in the US, praising their efforts to "defend the oppressed women and children of Gaza," according to Iran's state news outlet IRNA as quoted by CNN.
Previously, Khamenei also praised support from various parts of the world for Palestine. When receiving Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh on the sidelines of President Ebrahim Raisi's funeral last week, he said no one expected that one day, American students would sing in support of Palestine and raise its flag.
