JAKARTA - Constitutional Court (MK) Judge Arief Hidayat was confused when a witness to the National Mandate Party (PAN) admitted that he was asked for a Presidential mandate letter by the Chairman of KPPS TPS 018, Malawele Village, Aimas District, Sorong, Southwest Papua. The incident occurred during a hearing to prove the 2024 PHPU Pileg case at the Constitutional Court Building, Jakarta, Thursday, May 30 for the case numbered 05-01-12-38/PHPU.DPR-DPRD-XXII/2024. Valid as the applicant is PAN and as the respondent party is the KPU. At first, one of the PAN witnesses named Hayun Iriwanas said that the party's witnesses were expelled by TPS 018, Malawele Village. “ I have a witness who is in the TPS, Your Majesty. When I returned home, my witness was at home. I asked ‘ why didn't he enter the tap? ’ and he said ‘ The chairman of the KPPS said he could not enter if there was no mandate letter from the President ’,” he said as quoted by Antara. Hayun's statement immediately confused Arief and asked who the president was. “Surat mandasinya dari presiden?” tanya Arief. “Yes, Your Majesty,” replied Hayun. What president is president? President of America? President of Indonesia? Or president playing or what? If all witnesses must have a mandate from the president, the president is drunk, ” said Arief with a laugh. Arief said that the mandatory witness at the TPS only needed a mandate letter from the party concerned. Hayun then explained that the Chairperson of the KPPS TPS 018 compared the PAN witness with the PKS witness because the PKS witness had a mandate letter from the President of PKS. Arief also again confirmed who the President was referring to by Hayun. “So, the President of PKS? ” asked Arief. "“Ready," said Hayun. “ But not the President of the Republic of Indonesia? ” ask Arief again. “Ready,” replied Hayun. Then, Arief asked if witness PAN had a mandate letter from the party. Hayun said that witness PAN already had the letter. “Still not allowed to enter? ” ask Arief. “ Can't enter,” replied Hayun. “ Only said there must be a mandate letter from the President? ” asked Arief. “Yes, Your Majesty,” said Hayun. This “Wash is confusing. What is this President? ” said Arief. In this petition, PAN argued that there were allegations of election violations at Pols 07 and Polling Station 018, Malawele Village, Aimas District, Sorong, Southwest Papua. The party mentioned that the PKS candidate with serial number two from the Sorong 2 electoral district who served as a member of the KPPS at Polling Station 018 turned out to be a KPPS 5 officer in charge of arranging voters voting at the voting booth.

In addition, it was also stated that a PKS candidate number two in the Sorong 3 electoral district served as Chairman of the KPPS TPS 07. As for the petitum, PAN asked for a re-voting in the two butts.
