After SBY, MPR Leaders Schedule To Meet Megawati, Jokowi To Prabowo

JAKARTA - The MPR leadership will meet with the 5th President Megawati Soekarnoputri, President Joko Widodo, and Elected President Prabowo Subianto after meeting the 6th President, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) in Cikeas, Bogor, Tuesday, May 28.

MPR chairman Bambang Soesatyo (Bamsoet) said his party would send a letter to President Jokowi and Megawati to hold a meeting. Likewise with Prabowo Subianto as the elected president.

"We also sent a letter to Pak Jokowi maybe in the near future. We hope that after Pak SBY, Pak Jokowi, then Mrs. Mega, then to Prabowo," said Bamsoet, Wednesday, May 29.

Furthermore, the MPR leadership also plans to meet with a number of chairmen of religious organizations, namely Muhammadiyah and Nahdlatul Ulama (NU).

"Apart from this period, the chairman of political parties and the chairman of religious organizations such as NU Muhammadiyah and others," said Bamsoet.

In addition, Bamsoet said that the leadership of the MPR would also meet a number of elite political parties. Such as the Chairman of the NasDem Party Surya Paloh, the chairman of the Golkar Party Airlangga Hartarto, the General Chairperson of PAN Zulkifli Hasan, and the Chairman of PPP Mardiono and former Chairman of the MPR RI Amien Rais.

However, said Bamsoet, the agenda for the meeting was still waiting for a response from a number of parties. Including the parties to be met.

"What is certain is that in the near future we will go to Amien Rais and then to Surya Paloh as the General Chair of NasDem. We are waiting for Golkar's response, my chairman (Airlangga Hartarto), we are waiting for PPP, from PAN," said Bamsoet.

Bamsoet said that so far the Head of NasDem Surya Paloh has responded. As for the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia as well as the Chairman of the PDIP, Megawati Soekarnoputri, the MPR is still waiting for confirmation of the time to meet.

"But the person who has responded from the chairman of the political party, Mr. Surya Paloh. (If Mrs. Mega), according to Basarah (Chairman of the PDI-P DPP) after it is scheduled maybe next month, maybe yes but we don't know yet, we don't get confirmation yet," said Bamsoet.

"But the letter arrived and Mr. Basarah said it was scheduled but he didn't know the time, he was okay," he added.
