Health Office: Handling Patients Died Allegedly Malapractic According To SOP

CIANJUR - The Health Office of Cianjur Regency, West Java, noted that the process of handling patients on behalf of Daffa Algifari Nugraha (10), a resident of Sindangbarang District, at the Sindangbarang Health Center, who was suspected of having died from malpractice, was in accordance with Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).

Head of the Cianjur Health Office, Yusman Faisal, said that his party had deployed a joint team consisting of doctors and nurses to conduct a search related to the death of the patient who had undergone medical treatment at the puskesmas.

"Currently, the team has been dispatched to Sindangbarang to determine the cause of the death of the victim, we will announce the results later, but the reports we have received are in accordance with the SOP," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, May 27.

He explained that the picture of the team, the handling carried out by health workers was in accordance with applicable procedures, while the results were waiting for other efforts that would be made by the police who planned to conduct an exhumation and autopsy on Daffa's body.

The Health Office will respect the applicable legal process, as well as to determine the cause of death of the victim in order to get an answer for the family.

"We are waiting for the autopsy results so that the family can have confidence about the cause, regarding the exhumation and autopsy carried out by the police, of course we will support it," he said.

The Cianjur Resort Police conducted an exhumation and autopsy on the body of the boy Daffa Algifari Nugraha (10), a resident of Sindangbarang District, who was suspected of having died from malpractice after undergoing treatment at the Sindangbarang Health Center.

Kasatreskrim Cianjur Police AKP Tono Listianto, said his party would conduct an exhumation on Tuesday (28/5) followed by an autopsy at Cianjur Hospital, Wednesday (29/5).

"This step was taken to determine the cause of Daffa's death, so that it did not cause much perception," he said.

The Cianjur Police summoned witnesses from the patient's family and the puskesmas regarding reports of alleged malpractice that befell residents of Sindangbarang District on behalf of Daffa Algifari Nugraha (10) to death after receiving treatment at the Sindangbarang Health Center.

The police have followed up on reports of alleged malpractice reported by the parents of the victim Syarifah Lawati (44) to the Cianjur Police by summoning 7 witnesses from the family of the deceased or the health center, the case is under further investigation.
