JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Mutual Consultative Community Organization (MKGR) declared support for the Chairman of the DKI Jakarta Golkar DPD Ahmed Zaki Iskandar as a candidate for governor in the DKI Regional Head Election in November 2024.

Chairman of the DKI Jakarta MKGR DPD Basri Baco submitted the recommendation letter or support to Ahmed Zaki Iskandar at the DKI Golkar DPD Office, Jakarta, Thursday night.

The DKI Jakarta MKGR supports Zaki as the Jakarta Governor for seeing his track record in the government. Apart from being a member of the DPR RI (2009-2013), Zaki has also been the Regent of Tangerang for two periods (2013-2018 and 2018-2023).

"There are many considerations, but first Zaki has experience as a regional head, both have experience leading a five-year party," said Basri Baco.

Zaki also succeeded in bringing achievements to Golkar Jakarta, where the Golkar seats in the DKI Jakarta DPRD in the 2024 Legislative Election rose to 10 seats, even though the 2019 Legislative Election was only six seats.

Currently, the Golkar DPP has mandated its three cadres to conduct an assessment with the public, namely Ahmed Zaki Iskandar, Ridwan Kamil and Erwin Aksa.

Baco assessed that Ridwan Kamil's figure has been confirmed to continue to fight in the West Java Pilkada. Golkar does not want Ridwan Kamil, who has a fairly high vote there, to fight in Jakarta.

Meanwhile, Erwin Aksa had to resign from the position he would hold as a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the period 2024-2029.

Jusuf Kalla's nephew of national political figure is considered not to release his seat in the Indonesian House of Representatives because he has spent enough capital to fight in the legislative elections on February 14, 2024.

"When there is a rule that if he runs for the Pilkada, he must resign (a member of the DPR RI), he has not been inaugurated, he must have thought twice, and he has never been a regional head, has never led Jakarta, then the elected candidate, so it is not a parameter," he explained.

Baco said the number of MKGR cadres in Jakarta reached 30,480 people. This figure is obtained from the assumption that in each RT there are two cadres from the total household in Jakarta.

"Our cadres are very large, the range is approximately the number of RTs in Jakarta multiplied by two," he said.

To introduce the figure of Zaki in the community, MKGR will build six posts. Five posts will be built in five city areas, while one main post in the Pesanggrahan area, South Jakarta.

"Starting this week, there will be an action to distribute free glasses to the public, after that there will be more because the target must be a program for the next three months," said the chairman of the Golkar Party faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD.

He hopes that the existence of this post can strengthen Zaki's figure in the eyes of the community because more and more people are known, his electability level in survey institutions will increase.

"Sometimes the recommendation (from the DPP) comes down based on a survey, even though friends from other machines are also moving, other organizations are also moving, other volunteers are also moving. So everything must be able to move," he explained.

Baco is of the view that the movement to support Zaki must be massive in the internal camp because when the public sees Golkar and its wings solid, it will certainly increase confidence in the public about the figure being promoted. Meanwhile, the chairman of the DKI Jakarta Golkar DPD Ahmed Zaki Iskandar was honored by the support of the Golkar wing organization MKGR.

He hopes that this support will prove that Golkar is solid from the level of the Advisory Council, administrators, to the wing organizations.

"I would like to thank the Jakarta Province MKGR mass organization, hopefully this support will be proof that Golkar Jakarta is solid," said Zaki.

According to him, the Golkar DPP has not yet decided who the cadres will be carried as the Jakarta Governor/Readwagub. Until now, Zaki has taken advantage of the existing momentum by routinely holding coalition party political safaris in the presidential election yesterday and non-coal.

"We held socialization events and also visited, yesterday we just passed the syawal month, there are many halalbihalal, it is also part of socialization to the community," he said.
