JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) hopes that people on the island of Java will stay away from money politics or dawn attacks. They are expected to be able to choose a regional head candidate according to their abilities.

This was conveyed by the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Johanis Tanak when releasing the KPK Roadshow Bus group entitled Explore the 2024 Anti-Corruption Bangun Country at the KPK's Red and White Building, Wednesday, May 22.

"Our hope is that through this activity let's increase awareness and understanding of anti-corruption that can be implemented in everyday life. This includes being wise in choosing and not accepting dawn attacks," said Tanak as quoted in his written statement, Thursday, May 23.

Not only that, this anti-corruption bus is expected to be part of efforts to eradicate corruption. "By instilling an anti-corruption culture that collaborates with local governments to touch all lines in society," said Tanak.

"We express our appreciation to the eight local governments that have collaborated in the Anti-Corruption Bangun State Explore program this year, hopefully this milestone can become a trigger to eradicate sustainable corruption," he continued.

Similarly, Deputy for Education and Community Participation of the KPK, Wawan Wardiana, said that this bus roadshow carried the main mission, namely not to reject all forms of dawn attacks. "KPK needs to socialize and campaign for anti-corruption values to the public, especially welcoming the 2024 simultaneous regional elections later," he said.

The anti-corruption buses are planned to visit eight regencies/cities and four provinces in Java Island, East Java Province including Bangkalan Regency, Bojonegoro Regency and Surabaya; Central Java Province includes Brebes Regency, Wonosobo Regency and Semarang; West Java Province includes Cianjur Regency, West Bandung Regency and Bandung City; and Banten Province covering Lebak Regency, Pandeglang Regency and Serang.

"This program is expected to establish good communication between the community and local governments, understanding and community contributions so that they continue to build an anti-corruption culture, and realize the rights and responsibilities of the community in organizing people who are free from criminal acts of corruption," Wawan concluded.
