RK Will Not Be Present At Pramono-Rano's Determination As The Elected Governor-Deputy Governor Of Jakarta Tomorrow

JAKARTA - Candidate for Governor of Jakarta number 1 Ridwan Kamil (RK) is confirmed not to attend the plenary meeting for the appointment of the elected Governors of Jakarta in the 2024 Pilkada Pramono Anung-Rano Karno on Thursday, January 9 tomorrow.

This was confirmed by spokesman Ridwan Kamil, Juwanda. Juwanda admitted that RK had received an invitation from the DKI Jakarta General Election Commission (KPU). However, RK cannot go to Jakarta the next day.

"God willing, this determination will be attended by Mr. Suswono (the candidate for Deputy Governor of Jakarta number 1), because Kang Ridwan Kamil happened to be outside Java this week so he could not attend in person," said Juwanda in his statement, Wednesday, January 8.

On the one hand, RK has accepted his defeat in the Jakarta gubernatorial election. The former Governor of West Java has also congratulated Pramono-Rano on Pramono's victory in the contestation.

"We also entrust the aspirations of the people who came to Kang Emil and Pak Suswono to pay attention to the development of Jakarta in the next five years," said Juwanda.

The DKI Jakarta KPU will hold a plenary meeting to determine the elected Governors and Deputy Governors of Jakarta in the 2024 Pilkada on Thursday, January 9 at the Pullman Hotel, Central Park, West Jakarta.

Ahead of the appointment of the elected Governors and Deputy Governors of Jakarta, the DKI KPU has delivered direct invitations to Pramono Anung and Rano Karno. The DKI KPU has also sent invitations to other candidate pairs in the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election, namely Ridwan Kamil, Suswono, Dharma Pongrekun, and Kun Wardana.

"Earlier before going to Bang Doel, we went to Pak Suswono, coincidentally Mr. RK still had an assignment. Mr. Suswono ensured that Mr. RK was present, even if he was not present, Mr. Suswono would attend. Mr. Dharma Pongrekun, God willing, with Mr. Kun Wardana, he will attend, including the relevant stakeholders," said KPU Chairman DKI Wahyu Dinata.

The Jakarta KPU previously appointed candidate for governor and deputy governor number 3, Pramono Anung-Rano Karno or Bang Doel as the pair with the most votes. The decision was taken through an open plenary meeting on Sunday, December 8, 2024.

The Pramono-Rano pair got 2,183,239 votes. Meanwhile, pair number 1, Ridwan Kamil-Suswono, won 1,718,160 votes.

For the final position, the candidate pair for governor and deputy governor number 2, Dharma Pongrekun and Kun Wardhana received 459,230 votes.

The acquisition of all votes is 4,360,629. All votes are valid and invalid 4,724,393. Meanwhile, the number of users of the right to vote reached 4,724,393 of the total final voter list (DPT) 8,214,007.
