JAKARTA - The US National Transportation Safety Council (NTSB) sent a number of advisers to help Singapore investigate the fatal incident experienced by the Singapore Airlines aircraft made by Boeing due to severe turbulence, Tuesday (21/5).
Singapore Airlines said a number of passengers were injured and one person died on board the Boeing 777 plane which was experiencing turbulence near Myanmar.
"The NTSB sent accredited representatives and four technical advisers to support the investigation of the Singapore Transportation Safety Investigation Bureau (TSIB) into a turbulence accident on flight 321 Singapore Airlines," the NTSB said as quoted by ANTARA from Sputnik, Wednesday, May 22.
The Singapore Airlines flight was on its way from London to Singapore when it suddenly experienced extreme turbulence in the Irrawaddy Basin.

Following the incident, the pilot was forced to make an emergency landing in Bangkok, Thailand, on Tuesday, May 21 morning.
The plane was carrying 221 passengers and 18 crew, the maspakai said, adding that most of the passengers came from Australia and England.
