JAKARTA - The Constitutional Court (MK) held a trial for expressing decisions, for example, related to disputes over general election results (PHPU) or disputes over the results of the 2024 Legislative Election, on Tuesday, May 21. In the session I from 08.00 WIB to 13.15 WIB, the Constitutional Court has invalidated 55 lawsuits by the legislative PHPU.
Spokesperson for the Constitutional Court, Fajar Laksono, explained the reason why the panel of judges canceled a number of disputes over the results of the 2024 Legislative Election, such as not fulfilling the formal aspect.
One of them is that there are cases that do not meet formal aspects, such as being submitted outside the deadline, which is after 3x24 hours.
In addition, the reason for not fulfilling the formal aspect is in the form of individual candidates who do not get recommendations from political parties signed by the general chairman and the secretary general of political parties. In fact, there are also reasons due to applicants who are not present when summoned properly by the Constitutional Court.
"So it has not yet entered the substance or subject of the case. So first look at the formal aspects. Well, this is seen as cases that do not meet the formal aspect, they will stop here," explained Fajar, Tuesday, May 21.
Meanwhile, the Constitutional Court read out the verdict against 155 PHPU cases on Tuesday. A total of 52 other cases, the plan will be read Wednesday, May 22.
The Constitutional Court previously pocketed as many as 297 cases of election disputes, including the DPR, DPD, provincial DPRD, to the registered district/city DPRD.
However, in the trial of the disal decision this time, only 207 cases will be read out. Thus, there are 90 cases that are not included in the schedule for reading the disal decision.

"Later we will see the variations because there are several cases that were presented by the chairman, there are decisions. So in one case there is a electoral district or there is a posita that must stop, but there is something else in one application that will continue. We will see together later," explained Fajar.
As for the pronunciation of the disal decision, the constitutional judge filtered out which cases could be continued to the evidentiary stage. A number of cases that passed will enter the stage of the evidentiary trial which will be held on 27 May-4 June 2024.
