SEMARANG Police thwarted the shipment of 3 kg of methamphetamine that would be sent from Semarang City to Kebumen and Pekalongan Regencies by two different couriers.

Semarang Police Chief Kombes Irwan Anwar said the first disclosure was made by the Semarang Police Narcotics Investigation Unit on May 9, 2024.

The police arrested a person with the initials N (39), a resident of Kebumen Regency when he was about to take a bus to his area of origin.

"This suspect has just taken the 1 kg methamphetamine package that will be brought to Kebumen," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, May 20.

From the perpetrator's confession, he said, the package in the form of 20 plastic packages was taken to Semarang on the orders of someone whose identity is still being investigated.

From his statement, the perpetrator admitted that he was ordered by someone to take methamphetamine to Semarang with a promised amount of Rp. 20 million.

Irwan explained that the two disclosures were carried out through disguises by officers in the field.
