JAKARTA - Various figures ranging from activists, academics, politicians, DPD leaders, government officials, TNI officials, to Elected President Prabowo Subianto sent wreaths to the funeral home as a sign of condolences for the death of the late Prof. Salim Haji Said.

The wreaths came one by one to the funeral home of the deceased at Prof. Salim Said's residence on Jalan Editor, PWI Complex, Cipinang, Jakarta, from Saturday night to Sunday morning.

Prof. Salim Said, who during his lifetime was a press and film figure in Indonesia, academics, scholars, Indonesian ambassadors, members of the MPR, authors of books and military observers, died at the age of 80 at Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital, Jakarta, on Saturday night at 19.33 WIB.

The family, represented by his nephew, Zacky Riyadi, said the deceased had previously been sick and had been admitted to the ICU several times.

From the RSCM, the body of the deceased was immediately taken to the funeral home, namely his residence on Jalan Editor No. 149 at the PWI Complex, Cipinang, Jakarta, on Saturday 22.30 WIB. The mourners did not stop coming to the deceased's residence to convey their condolences and prayers directly. Most of the mourners are family members, neighbors, colleagues, and close relatives. The mourners began to stop coming on Sunday at 01.17 WIB.

However, the family invited anyone to come to the funeral home until Sunday afternoon, because at around 12.00 WIB, the body would be taken to a mosque near the residence, then to the Tanah Kusir TPU in South Jakarta for burial.

"We invite anyone who wants to mourn, pray for him. We are open to being able to accept mourners," said the family representative who is the nephew of the deceased.
