JAKARTA - The Supervisory Board of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) hopes that the ethical trial's decision regarding the abuse of authority of KPK Deputy Chair Nurul Ghufron can be read out next week.

KPK Supervisory Board member Syamsuddin Haris said it was possible that the ethical trial decision could be read out around Monday, May 20 or Tuesday, May 21. This is because Ghufron will present his defense today.

"I don't know yet, if possible Monday, if it can't be Tuesday. We'll just have to wait," Syamsuddin told reporters at the ACLC building of the KPK RI, Friday, May 17.

The results of this ethical trial can be immediately decided because the KPK Council did not find new facts regarding the mutation process of an employee of the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) who was allegedly assisted by Ghufron. They just need to wait for him to defend himself.

Similarly, KPK Supervisory Board member Albertina Ho said the ethical trial decision would be read out before the long holiday at the end of next week. They will immediately prepare the required files after Ghufron delivers his defense.

"Yes, before the long leave," he said on a different occasion.

As previously reported, the KPK Supervisory Board held an ethics trial against the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron, on Tuesday, May 14. This process was carried out because he was suspected of abusing his authority in dealing with the mutation of an employee of the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan).

During the trial, six witnesses were summoned and questioned. Among them were KPK Deputy Chair Alexander Marwata and Ministry of Agriculture employees who were assisted with the mutation.

The employee whose mutation was assisted by Ghufron was his friend's son-in-law. He admitted that he was moved because of a sense of humanity and the process was unfair.

Because, when the employee submits a refusal mutation, it is carried out on the grounds of a shortage of human resources (HR). However, the employee was allowed to resign when submitting.
