JAKARTA - The Supreme Court (BPK) examined former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo regarding the alleged demand for money amounting to Rp12 billion for the provision of unqualified opinion (WTP) of the Ministry of Agriculture.
The examination was carried out at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta today.
"KPK facilitates witness examination related to alleged violations of the code of ethics committed by the BPK Examination at the Main Auditorat of Finance IV from the BPK Main Inspectorate Team," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters in a written statement, Friday, May 17.
Ali said this examination was based on the decision of the Jakarta Corruption Court Panel of Judges. Apart from Syahrul, BPK has also examined two other people, namely the Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture Kasdi Subagyono and the Director of Agricultural Equipment and Machinery of the Directorate General of Infrastructure and Facilities of the Ministry of Agriculture Muhammad Hatta.
The three of them are now defendants in alleged extortion and acceptance of gratuities at the Ministry of Agriculture.
Meanwhile, Syahrul, after undergoing the BPK examination, did not want to talk much. He admitted that he could not provide any information.
"Ask the examiner, yes," he said to reporters at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta.
