The Commander of Lanal (Danlanal) Palembang Marine Colonel (P) Sandy Kurniawan explained that the smugglers who had tried to escape were arrested by the Palembang Lanal F1QR Team in the waters of Lambur Luar, East Tanjung Jabung, Jambi, on May 10, 2024. The arrests were made after the Palembang F1QR team studied intelligence reports as well as gathered information from the public who suspected of smuggling clear lobster seeds into Singapore that passed through the waters of South Sumatra and Jambi. "Generally, the final destination of smuggling lobster clear seeds to Vietnam. South Sumatra and Jambi are the closest locations before smugglers flee their smuggled products abroad, to Singapore, which is the closest distance if they use a high-speed speed boat,” Sandy said during a press conference at the TNI AL Main Base Command Headquarters (Lantamal) III, Jakarta, Antara, Thursday, May 16. He estimates the smuggled lobster seeds could reach Singapore in just two hours after being removed from pompong wooden boats to fast boats (speed boats). Sandy explained that after receiving intelligence and information reports from the public, the Palembang Lanal F1QR Team installed insulations in several waters, including Lambur waters, Kuala Tungkal waters, Kandana waters, Lagan waters, Marine Village waters, and Nipah Panjang waters. In the midst of the isolation, he said, the joint F1QR team consisting of Lanal Palembang, Binpotmar (Mattim Potential Development) of the Indonesian Navy Kampung Laut, Binpotmar TNI AL Nipah Panjang, Posal (TNI AL Pos) Muara Sabang, Posal Kuala Tungkal, suspected the pompong ship passing by. The ship had tried to escape while being chased by the joint TNI AL F1QR team. The pompong boat finally stopped after a joint F1QR team fired two warning shots. From the results of the search, the joint team of F1QR Lanal Palembang found 52 boxes of clear lobster seeds of sand and pearl type, totaling 277,800 heads. Sandy said that from the arrest, the F1QR Team arrested four suspects, all of whom were men, namely MS (31 years old), SL (42 years old), HT (30 years old), and MR (23 years old). The four suspects are currently still being questioned by the F1QR Team at Mako Lanal Palembang.

In the past month, the Palembang F1QR team thwarted two smugglings of lobster clear seeds, apart from those arrested on May 10, 2024, Lanal Palembang also managed to thwart the smuggling of 18 boxes, which are estimated to contain 99,648 clear lobster seeds worth Rp15 billion.
