KPU: The Number Of Voters Per TPS In The 2024 Pilkada Is A Maximum Of 600 People

Chairman of the General Elections Commission (KPU) Hasyim Asy'ari said his party would regulate the maximum number of voters per polling station (TPS) during the 2024 Pilkada on November 27 as many as 600 people. This number increased 100% from the number of voters per polling station in the 2024 General Election to a maximum of 300 people.

"Now for the 2024 Pilkada, we will prepare at most 600 voters per polling station by paying attention not to incorporating villages/kelurahan, paying attention to the ease of voters to polling stations, not separating voters in one family at different polling stations, and local geographic aspects," said Hasyim during a meeting with Commission II of the DPR in the DPR Commission II meeting room, DPR building, parliament complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday 15 May.

Hasyim said that his party increased the number of voters per polling station to 600 people to facilitate the merger of two polling stations to one.

"Based on the 2024 election, a maximum of 300 voters per polling station. Thus, it will facilitate regrouping or collecting two polling stations into one polling station," he explained.

In addition, said Hasyim, the KPU will adopt a special TPS in order to ensure the fulfillment of the voting rights of citizens in the 2024 Pilkada. "For example, workers in plantations or mining, who cannot return to the TPS at the address according to the ID card, a special location TPS is prepared," concluded Hasyim.

Commission II of the DPR held a working meeting (raker) with the government and election organizers, namely the KPU, Bawaslu and the Election Organizers Honorary Council (DKPP) in the DPR Commission II meeting room, DPR building, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday (15/5/2024), to discuss the draft KPU regulations (PKPU) related to the implementation of the 2024 Pilkada.

The working meeting was led by the Chairman of Commission II of the DPR Ahmad Doli Kurnia who was accompanied by Deputy Chairman of Commission II of the DPR Saan Mustopa, Junimart Girsang, and Syamsurijal.
