Chairman of the General Election Supervisory Agency Rahmat Bagja said the Integrated Law Enforcement Center (Gakkumdu) will soon be formed ahead of the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada.
"We hope that by the end of May 2024 it will be formed. Because the time is running, it is impossible to postpone it until next month," said Bagja as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 15.
According to him, the formation of the Gakkumdu Center for the 2024 Pilkada is very important because the stages of fulfilling the requirements for the support of individual candidate pairs are already underway.
To accelerate the formation of Gakkumdu, Bawaslu will hold a marathon meeting with the police and the prosecutor's office. The three institutions will sit together in an effort to uphold election justice.

"We hope that in June 2024 there will be a national coordination meeting. The meeting is to equalize the perceptions of the three institutions according to their respective authorities, in the 2024 Pilkada," he explained.
Bagja said the formation of the Gakkumdu Center will make it easier for people who want to report violations in the registration stage for candidates to the regions.
He considered this to be common in every stage of candidacy.
"So that people are not confused about finding a place to report violations. If there is a Gakkumdu, just report it immediately by including reporting conditions," concluded Bagja.
