Art Teachers Involved In Sexual Harassment Of Same-sex Types In Kupang Use Badminton

The Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) of the NTT Police is still investigating Kung, art teachers are involved in sexual harassment of same-sex children in Kupang, NTT.

To the officers, Kung admitted that since 2023 she has used poppers that were illegally purchased and without a doctor's prescription through an online platform in Yogyakarta.

These are a group of chemicals commonly used as inhaler substances, providing a temporary relaxation effect of muscles and euphoria. This zat is often used in the sexual context to increase sensation and relax the anal sfingter muscles.

This liquid is used by Kung to have sexual relations with victims who are junior high and high school students and students at the dance studio she manages.

"I bought it in Yogyakarta online and without a prescription," said Kung at the NTT Regional Police when examined as reported by Antara, Tuesday, January 7.

The perpetrator also admitted that he had recorded his sexual abuse with the victim in August 2024.

The Director of Criminal Investigation at the NTT Police, Kombes Patar Silalahi, added that Kung is threatened with 15 years in prison for sexual harassment of the same sex.

"He was charged with a number of articles related to sexual violence," he said in his statement received in Kupang.

Kung is charged with Article 82 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 76E of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 17 of 2016 concerning Stipulation of the Second Amendment to Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection.

In addition, the perpetrators are also subject to Article 6 letter C of Law Number 12 of 2022 concerning the Crime of Sexual Violence in conjunction with Article 64 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.

"The maximum penalty for these articles is 15 years in prison, plus one-third of the threat of punishment for Kung's status as a teacher at the time of the incident," he said.

Patar Silalahi emphasized that his party would process this case in accordance with applicable law.
