Residents' Anarchic Action In Batulayar, NTB Police Intervene To Help West Lombok Police

The NTB Regional Police assisted the West Lombok Police in handling the case of a group of residents who carried out anarchic actions in the Montong Buwuh area, Batulayar District. "So, for the Montong case, the NTB Police are assisting with the ongoing handling at the police level," said Head of Public Relations of the NTB Police, Kombes Rio Indra Lesmana, in Mataram, Antara, Wednesday, May 15. Regarding the demonstration by Batulayar residents which demanded that the police immediately provide legal certainty regarding the anarchist case, Rio only ensured that his party was still working according to the rules. For the handling of this case, he hopes that the community will not do things that can harm many parties, such as blocking roads. "Don't do things that can harm many parties, such as blocking roads. Just trust us in handling this issue, hopefully it can be revealed quickly," he said. Regarding the handling of the anarchic case of a group of residents that occurred on Friday night, the Head of the Central Lombok Police, AKBP Iwan Hidayat, said that his party helped handle the West Lombok Police. Iwan stated this following the results of the development of information which stated that the anarchist action was carried out by a group of residents from the jurisdiction of the Central Lombok Police. He said that his party had now secured a truck suspected of transporting a group of residents to the Montong Buhuh area. "So, we are collaborating with the West Lombok Police to find the perpetrators. For the time being, we have secured evidence of the truck used in the action," said Iwan. The anarchist action on Friday night (10/5) in Montong Buwuh took place on the cross-provincial route. A group of about 50 residents came to the location by truck.

Arriving, a group of residents armed with sharp weapons carried out the destruction of business premises and the persecution of a number of residents at the location. Two residents of Montong Buh suffered lacerations and are still having to receive intensive medical treatment at the Mataram City Hospital.
