PALEMBANG - A hajj candidate from Lubuklinggau City, South Sumatra who joined the Palembang Embarkation 2 group died and was buried in Baqi, Medina.

"Closter 2 pilgrims, namely Yusman from Lubuklinggau City, died at King Fahd Hospital, Medina, Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at 17:25 WAS. The deceased was buried at the Baqi Cemetery, Medina," said Public Relations of the South Sumatra Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion Qudus as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 15.

He mentioned that based on information from the Head of Group 2 of the Palembang Embarkation, upon arrival in Medina on May 13, Yusman's health condition worsened, so he was taken to the hospital. He was treated one night, and was declared dead at the age of 64.

"After going through the process of processing documents and distributing the bodies at King Fahd Hospital, this morning the body of the deceased was taken to the Prophet's Mosque for prayer. After the Fajr prayer, at around 04:50 WAS, the deceased was buried at Baqi Cemetery," he said.

The Head of the South Sumatra Ministry of Religion, Syafitri Irwan, as the Head of the Palembang Embarkation PPIH, expressed his condolences for the death of the deceased. He is sure that the deceased died in a state of Husnul Khotimah, because he was on his way to perform the pilgrimage.

He said that Yusman, who died in Medina, would be prayed because the government prepared a badal hajj program in every operation to organize the pilgrimage.

"This program is part of a service prepared for pilgrims who meet the criteria," he said.
